I agree with this post I saw

As someone who's been playing since 2018, took a break at some point and then came back, I feel like website values have ruined a lot of the values of older pets which doesn't make sense to me at all. There's been several times where I've been trying to trade my crocodile to get rid of it, and more often than I'd like to admit, I've gotten trades which people argue are fair but I just can't wrap my head around why they would be. I'm not going to accept a 2023 pet for one I got a fairly long while back now.

I personally haven't and don't use any website values, and people I've met in games tell me it's ridiculous not to do so, but I honestly don't care. Sure, it is harder to trade my pets and get fair or decent trades for older pets that are rares/uncommons/commons, but I'd rather take my time than rely on a site that says something from 2024 is worth more than something from a while back only because of the looks of the pet itself.
